To put on an event or run a project in your community takes time, money, and resources. You need to hire a venue and people. Buy materials, rent equipment, transport things from one place to another. Promote what you’re doing and then hope people come. It’s a lot of work and often a thankless task. We don’t pretend to have the answer to that problem, but this platform can help. Whenever you need someone to help you, materials to make stuff, equipment to build things, or a van to move it, you just search for it on our listings page. If you find what you need you, get in touch with that member and ask them to help. It’s that easy.
HOW DO I JOIN?
To make this platform work you register as a member and add a skill, materials, equipment, or transport to the list. Doesn’t have to be much: a helping hand, spare fabric, the loan of some tools, a van to get things from one place to another. The list is endless and the longer it gets the more stuff we can do. Then, whenever you need help on your project or event, you search the list for what you need and get in touch with that member.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
This platform is based on gift economy principles. No money is exchanged. You just give what you can and take what you need. More importantly, you give yourself the opportunity to work with other members, create informal networks, share knowledge, and support other people make their cities, towns, and villages better places to live in.
